Knowledge assessment

Under the New System of Studies (divided into units, requirements are as follows :

  • An average of ten (10/20) or more for successful completion of units ;

  • An average of 10 in all the modules included in the curriculum, for successful completion of a full year. (Taking into account (that there are inter-module compensations enabling students with a 10/20 average to succeed) ;

  • Students with an average of 10 in only 3/4 of the units are entitled to pass provided. They take again the units in which they failed the Following year.

However students whose average is less than 10/20 in one of the language modules namely Arabic/French/English do not benefit from this opportunity.

In case students have to repeat, they are only required to take again the units in which they failed.

Successful completion of all the units included in each cycle leads to "Le Diplôme d'Etudes Universitaires du Premier Cycle" and to "La Maîtrise" in Journalism or Communication.

The average mark of the continuous assessment both written and oral accounts for (20%) of the final mark (80%) for the Final exams.

4th year students get a mark for their report on their training period added to the marks of the module comprising it.

Students are awarded a degree in Journalism or Communication (Maîtrise) only after successful defending a research paper in their field of specialisation.
